Thuringia is a federal state in Germany. Of course you know Germany, but you probably don’t know much about Thuringia. However, we are about to change that. Come with us as we start our journey through the heart of Germany.

The large forest areas, for example, the “Hainich” national park, which is unique in Europe and home to Europe’s first treetop path in a national park, or the Rennsteig in the heart of the Thuringian Forest, contain a world far away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The idyllic landscape, the fresh air and, last but not least, the unique flora and fauna positively invite one to come here and unwind. In this relaxed environment one can really let one’s mind wander.

The Thuringian Forest has always been a big source of inspiration for many artists, scientists, inventors and a magnet for scores of natural scientists. Alfred E. Brehm, for example, was so fascinated by the fauna of Thuringia that he compiled his own encyclopaedia, which remains of global importance in the field of zoology to this day. The best thing to do is to discover the fascination of the Thuringian Forest for yourself.
