“Bronze Nail” in the Art Directors Club für Deutschland e. V. (ADC) competition

Advertisement designs of the image campaign “The German Idea Factory.” win award in Berlin.

In the annual competition held by Directors Club für Deutschland e. V. (ADC), the designs “There’s more to Thuringia than you think.” won a “Bronze Nail” in the “Print advertising: specialist ads” category. The “Nail” is the most sought-after creative award in the German-speaking areas. Bronze was this year’s highest award granted in this category. The advertisement campaign also received an award in the “Print advertising: daily/weekly newspaper advertisements” category. The winning designs were also to be seen in the exhibition in the hangar of the Tempelhof airport that formed part of this competition.

A total of 7,875 works from all advertising categories were submitted to ADC this year, and a total of 174 golden, silver and bronze “Nails” were won.
The goal of ADC is to improve creative services in Germany, thereby setting new standards. Under the motto “Creativity pays off”, the promotion of creativity in communication and support for young talents are among its principal tasks. And ADC organises competitions with precisely these goals in mind. In addition, ADC also encourages further exchange and training in communication through publications, seminars, lectures and other events.

The Art Directors Club für Deutschland (ADC) was established in Düsseldorf in 1964 on the basis of an American model and is currently based in Berlin. At present, it has 483 members and is supported by 96 sustaining members. This provides a common platform for leading creatives from the sectors of advertising, text, image, design, editorial, photography, illustration, radio, film, interactive media and spatial presentations.

As part of this image campaign, the Thuringian Ministry of Economy issued a new series of advertisement and poster designs with the slogan “There’s more to Thuringia than you think.” in October 2006. These designs have so far had a great impact throughout Germany.
